Little Rocks
Introducing kids ages 6-9 to curling in a fun way. Kids learn the basics of the game, delivery and sweeping with a bit of rules and etiquette thrown in. Instruction is stressed for the first few weeks and playing time increases as the season progresses.
When: Saturdays 1:00PM – 1:45PM. The next Little Rocks season is set to start on Saturday, October 18, 2025 and wrap up on March 21, 2026.
Equipment: Minimal equipment required – clean soled shoes (NO OUTSIDE FOOTWEAR), comfortable, loose fitting clothing (NO JEANS). Brooms are available if required. Note: Helmets are mandatory for all Little Rocks curlers. Cycling, hockey or snow helmets are all acceptable.
Fees: Early bird price – $105 (includes Christmas party, windup and prizes). Online payment preferred. Payment also accepted at bar. If paying by cheque, make payable to Elmwood Curling Club. Price will increase after April.
Can I volunteer?: In order to run successfully, the Little Rocks programs is heavily reliant on parent volunteers/participation. Please advise if you would be able to volunteer some time, either on or off the ice. For on-ice, some curling knowledge would be an asset but is certainly not necessary. There will be a parent volunteer information session held prior to the first week of curling to familiarize individuals with the program, their roles and work out tentative time schedules. Some of our juniors do help out but the number of kids we can accept in the program will be determined by the number of parent volunteers we get. If you have any questions please contact Julia by email at youthprograms@elmwoodcurlingclub.com.
Bantam & Junior Skill Development

May include playing some short games (1 or 2 ends) to incorporate the skills we are working on. Youths can register for both Skill Development and League, if they wish, at a $50 discount.

This program provides youths ages 9 and older with more opportunity to play games, with less coaching.
After 1-2 weeks for assessing skill level, they will be sorted onto teams and play for the rest of the season with that team. There will be some coaching, and all teams will have some “bye” weeks where they will work on skills with a coach.
